PURPOSE

The purpose of this No Weapons Policy is to provide, as much as reasonably possible, a safe environment for all persons at The Works, including tenants, employees, independent contractors, visitors, and customers. The Works does not tolerate acts or threats of violence on its property.

POLICY

Under Georgia law, a private property owner is permitted to exclude or eject a person who is in possession of a weapon on such private property.

The Works is private property, and it is the Works’ policy that weapons – including without limitation handguns, knives, and long guns – are not allowed on its premises, including inside any building located at The Works, and in the parking lot.

Law enforcement personnel who are at The Works’ premises in the discharge of their duties may possess a weapon registered to them but are encouraged to notify Security of their arrival on The Works premises.

Security staff may detain a person with a weapon as appropriate for the safety and security of employees, staff, visitors, and other persons at The Works.

REPORTING OF PERSONS OBSERVED/BELIEVED TO HAVE WEAPONS AT THE WORKS:

All persons should promptly report to Security if they observe a person who appears to be in possession of a weapon at The Works. Under no circumstances should any person take any unnecessary risk or compromise his/her safety by confronting an individual who may be in possession of a weapon at The Works.
