Grab your friends and visit two exhibitions on display at The Works as part of Atlanta Art Week: “Acceptance: Identity & Circumstance,” an Alfred Conteh solo exhibition curated by Courtney Brooks and presented by Peoria Riverfront Museum; and HOMEWORK, a pop-up exhibition featuring artwork selected from each of the two premier MFA programs at The University of Georgia and Georgia State University.
AAW celebrates the visual arts in one of the fastest growing art hubs in the United States. Founded by Art Advisor Kendra Walker, AAW aims to create a dynamic environment that brings together galleries, artists, collectors, and art enthusiasts to promote cultural exchange, education, economic development, and appreciation of the arts.

About Event: “Acceptance: Identity & Circumstance” showcases a compelling new body of work by acclaimed Atlanta artist Alfred Conteh, whose art reflects the challenges faced by Black communities, particularly in the liberal enclaves of Atlanta surrounded by the conservative South. Conteh’s large-scale works invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences with acceptance and identity, exploring the intersection of personal narratives and broader societal issues.

Opening Reception: Friday, October 4th from 8pm-11pm
Closing Reception: Sunday, October 6th from 6pm-10pm

About Event: The University of Georgia and Georgia State University are collaborating on HOMEWORK, a pop-up exhibition featuring artwork selected from each of the two premier MFA programs for the 2024 edition of Atlanta Art Week.
